Virat Kohli scored yet another century and Ajinkya Rahane his fourth consecutive 50-plus score as India built up a handsome lead over Bangladesh. Rahane’s wicket was the only positive spark for Bangladesh in the first session on Day 2 at Eden Gardens, as he sliced a cut off Taijul Islam to Ebadot Hossain at point.
Kohli registered his 27th Test century and drew level with Ricky Ponting for most international centuries as captain. Taijul bowling from one end for the entire first session did well, finding some turn and beating the batsmen a few times, but other than that, it has mostly been India dominating.
