Chandigarh, December 18
To ensure speedy redressal of consumer’s grievances far more efficaciously, the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission has set up a ‘Consumer Advocacy Cell’ to publicize ‘consumers’ electricity resolution mechanism besides launching a vigorous awareness campaign in this regard across the state.
PSERC official spokesperson said that the Cell has been mandated to facilitate the redressal of consumers’ grievances by giving them information on the avenues available for the same, generate awareness amongst consumers’ about their rights and duties, information dissemination to consumers besides bringing out a newsletter for the benefit of consumers.
The Spokesperson further pointed out that the ‘The Consumer Advocacy Cell’ would hold periodic meetings with Residents Welfare Associations representing domestic consumers, Associations of Medium and Small Scale Industries, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to generate awareness regarding the ‘Complaints Redressal Mechanism’.
