Elderly man, 23-yr-old girl die in road mishap near Moga

Ludhiana, December 23

An elderly man and a 23-year-old girl lost their lives, while three other people in the car were injured after their speeding car collided with a truck on Moga GT road here on Sunday.

As per the information, the condition of one of the passengers is said to be critical. The deceased were identified as 23-year-old Riya, residence of Karnikheda village, Fazilka and Mohan Singh of Islamganj Ludhiana.

The accident took place near Gurdwara Begampura Bhora Sahib. The collision was so severe that the car was badly damaged while getting several flips. The engine and roof of the car were all scattered. On hearing the voices of the injured, the passers-by drove them out. However, Mohan Singh and Riya died on the spot.

Kapil’s son Vijay Kumar, Satinder Singh and Divya daughter Ashok Kumar were injured among them. Divya and Kapil were admitted to Moga and Satinder to Jagraon Civil Hospital. Later, they were referred to Ludhiana. Station City SHO Nishan Singh said that action will be taken only on the basis of the statements of the injured.
