Capt mourns passing away of Major General Kripal Singh Kohli

Chandigarh, December 21

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday condoled the sad demise of Major General Kripal Singh Kohli, the father of Advisor Invest Punjab Major BS Kohli, who passed away at Mohali this evening after a brief illness. Major General Kohli (85) is survived by his wife, two sons and five grandchildren.

In a condolence message, Amarinder Singh described Major General Kohli as a distinguished army officer, a disciplined soldier and above all a fine human being with the qualities of head and heart, who was decorated twice for gallantry in 1965 and 1971 war. Major General Kohli was the commanding officer of 9 Dogra Regiment, when his unit won battle honour for Saudih (Bangladesh).

According to the family sources, the cremation of Major General Kohli will be held on December 22 (Sunday) at 1 pm at electric crematorium, Sector 25, Chandigarh.
