At least 35 killed after massive fire breaks out at factory in Delhi
New Delhi, December 8
At least 35 persons were killed after a massive fire broke out at a factory in Anaj Mandi area on the Rani Jhansi Road here on Sunday morning, the police said.
A call about the fire was received at 5:22 am, following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Over 50 persons were inside the factory operating from a residential area when the blaze broke out, they said.
The police said 35 persons were killed in the fire.
Many people trapped inside were rescued and rushed to RML Hospital and Hindu Rao Hospital, fire officials said.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal described the fire incident as “tragic” and said firemen were doing their best.
“V v tragic news. Rescue operations going on. Firemen doing their best. Injured are being taken to hospitals,” the chief minister said in a tweet.
