2 killed, 3 injured due to thick fog

Chandigarh, December 19

Due to thick fog engulfing the region, two persons were killed and three sustained injuries in two mishaps.

In the first accident, Deepak Soni (45) was killed and his wife Kamla (41) was injured grievously as the bike they were riding reportedly collided with a truck (PB 13AF 9487) near the level crossing at Peelibanga town in Hanumangarh.

In another mishap, Vikas Sharma (22) of Umrawat village in Bhiwani died on the spot and his cousins Arun and Naveen were injured as the vehicle driver lost control to prevent collision with a bike due to poor visibility and the vehicle hit a tree near Karanpura village. They were going to pay obeisance at historic Gogamedi temple near Hanumangarh.

Meanwhile, a truck transporting potatoes from Jalandhar to Rajasthan overturned after the driver lost control over the vehicle reportedly due to poor visibility on the Sriganganagar-Bikaner highway.
